# Scotland irregular-entry and people-smuggling evidence register

This is a Scotland-focused extract and research log from the wider UK project. It includes cases with a Scotland location, a Scotland-based person, or a Scotland-linked court/route. It does not claim that every person mentioned is an illegal migrant or asylum seeker; facilitators, accused people, convicted people, passengers, and victims are kept distinct.

## Current contents

- `scotland_cases.csv` — 14 Scotland-linked documented cases.
- `scotland_migrant_offences.csv` — 8 resident/offender-linked migrant or asylum-seeker records only; protestors and public attackers are excluded.
- `scotland_stats.csv` — 10 Scotland-specific aggregate records, including site-level accommodation statistics, denominator context and clearly labelled enforcement activity measures.
- `scotland_sources.csv` — 36 Scotland-focused sources.
- `scotland_hotel_incidents.csv` — separate hotel/protest incidents, including non-resident alleged offenders.
- `scotland_hotel_locations.csv` — identified Scottish hotel/accommodation sites and outstanding location leads.
- `scotland_research_log.csv` — completed coverage and remaining leads.
- `scotland_register.xlsx` — combined Scotland workbook.
- `scotland_web/` — static readable webpage with hotel-split resident/offender case cards and filters.

The UK-wide portable index is available at the project root as `index.html`; the Scotland-only page remains available in `scotland_web/index.html`.

The current extract is a verified starting point, not a claim of exhaustive Scotland coverage. The main outstanding work is monitoring the McKinney trial, obtaining primary French records for Frizell/Walsh, identifying the four Operation Lockstream arrests, obtaining final sentencing details for Sheikhi, and systematically searching Scottish court and local-news archives. The Edinburgh Learmonth Terrace FOI was checked: Police Scotland refused the requested incident data under sections 34, 35, 38 and 39, citing investigations, law enforcement, personal data, and heightened community-tension/safety concerns; no incident rows were added from it.

The wider UK-wide register remains unchanged in scope and is stored separately in the root CSV/XLSX files and `deliverables/`.
